To facilitate an improvement in the local community’s health and well-being, the Community Relations Unit (CRU) provides input support the local clinics to boost health delivery capacity as well as to CHIPS Compounds. Elite Minerals is committed to actively contributing to the host communities in which it operates. This is achieved by maintaining and building strong relationships based on mutual respect and the recognition of each other’s rights. Through the Town Development Committees, the CRU work in partnership with the communities to establish long term commitment to the betterment of the community and local economic development. In support of our communities, Elite actively recruits staff from the local region. As documented in the CSR Agreement with the communities, all unskilled labour is recruited from the host communities, which forms over 50% of the current workforce of the company. The company has a binding agreement with the community which is meant to meet both medium and long term needs of the host communities.
